Madame Maryland's Horoscope: January 2021

Happy 2021, Marylanders! A new year will bring all kinds of new opportunities and new things to learn and enjoy. So what should you be expecting or thinking about in January? Well, Madame Maryland looked into her crystal ball, and here's what she saw.

Aries

No need to be a tattletail this month, Aries. Sure, it might be exciting to spill the beans when you see someone not exactly on their best behavior, but a little restraint might be necessary. Controlling that impulse will keep you out of trouble this month!

Taurus

The pandemic has put a damper on everyone's social life, and it's hard to not feel left out when you're not part of other people's quarantine pods. Now's the time to communicate instead of shutting folks out or retreating into yourself! Speak up if you're feeling excluded -- your friends might not even realize they're doing it.

Gemini

Feeling the music this month, Gemini? Maybe you're inspired to make some songs of your own or maybe you're just ready to expand your listening library -- either way, this month is going to be full of music. Take recommendations from friends about new artists to look out for and don't be afraid to expand your horizons!

Cancer
Your sign is known for being a bit sensitive, but this month, give yourself the time and space you need to deal with the post-holiday emotional whirl! If you need to take a break from Zoom calls and game nights for a bit, that's fine. Give yourself permission to settle before jumping back into the hustle and bustle.
Leo
Staying quiet is not your style, Leo. But sometimes, your desire to jump into a conversation can backfire. This month, be deliberate about your contributions to a discussion, especially if it's not your area of expertise. You'll be ready to speak up when the topic turns to your wheelhouse!
Virgo

You're in the mood to make and fix things on your own this month, rather than just buying them new. Whether it's meals or appliances, you're feeling handy (and frugal) by putting in the work to make your dinner or computer the best it can be. Get watching those tutorial videos, Virgo!

Libra

Is there someone in your life who's always looking out for you or doing things for you? Libra, this is the month to show them how much you appreciate what they do! Baking cookies, writing them a note, or treating them to dinner...these are just a few ways you can show your thanks.

Scorpio

2021 could be your year to start something big, Scorpio! Don't hide away that business idea that you've had any longer. After all, we could all use a side hustle, especially during the pandemic. If you take it seriously and give it your all, you could be creating something special -- and lucrative, too.

Sagittarius
The new year has you feeling fresh and ready to take on anything that life throws at you. With 2020 behind you, you'll be feeling a second wind, and that means you can give all of your energy to whatever new project you're cooking up! We can't wait to see it.

Capricorn

People come to you for advice for good reason, Cap! You're the perfect mix of honest, practical, and funny, and so people listen to what you have to say. Just remember that you don't always have to be responsible for what everyone else is doing! Give yourself a break this month if you need it.

Aquarius
Who says you have to let daydreams be daydreams? Even goals that seem silly or insignificant can be brought to life with a little determination and a lot of creativity -- things you have in spades. By the end of the month, you might even surprise yourself with what you accomplish.
Pisces

Expanding your social circle isn't easy during a pandemic, but you're up to the challenge. The internet and mutual friends can provide a wealth of fresh faces and new people to chat with about your favorite hobbies, and this month, you're feeling particularly receptive to new energy. How's it feel to be so popular?
