5 Reasons to Visit Maryland State Parks this Fall

Who says summer is the only time to visit a Maryland state park? We think that it's just as great to visit your local state park once the weather gets crisp and the air turns cool! If you're wondering why it's worth bundling up and seeing what Maryland's state parks have to offer, well, this article is for you.

1. The Foliage

All over the state, the trees are approaching peak color for the autumn season! If you want to be surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of trees changing color, look no further than state parks. In fact, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources even has a chart (updated weekly) that you can consult to see what the trees in every county look like and if they're ready for your Instagram photos.

The best part about Maryland's state parks is that you can truly rough it in a tent, bring in your own camper, sleep easy in a cabin, or even stay in a relatively elegant forest lodge! Check out all of the options here, and don't forget the marshmallows!

If you're a history nut, you'll find plenty in the state parks!
