Madame Maryland's Horoscope: August 2021

Happy August, Marylanders! A new month awaits us, full of opportunities and chances. What should you expect now that summer is winding down and fall is just around the corner? Well, Madame Maryland looked into her crystal ball, and here's what she saw.

Life's not always fair, but that doesn't mean you can't work to make things a bit more equitable. If you know that someone is getting the short end of the stick, Aries, use your fire and passion to make it right! If anyone can do it, it's you.

You might have have a full summer wardrobe, but what about your fall looks? If you're running low on cool-weather clothing, well, now's the time to prepare. (You know we can help you out with those hoodies and jackets!) Treat yourself to something as comfy and cozy as you deserve, Taurus.

You love having a big social circle, but sometimes, you just want to spend time with a few of your very closest friends. There's nothing wrong with saying no to social obligations that you're not feeling into! Be protective of your energy and don't feel bad about taking things easy this month.

Feeling particularly stubborn this month, Cancer? It may feel like you'll take any opportunity to dig in your heels and keep an argument going -- but it doesn't have to be that way. Even if you don't feel like relenting, know that some things just aren't worth the fight.

Not everyone who could really use your help is going to ask, Leo. If you think someone you know could use a hand -- even with something small -- go ahead and offer! You never know how much of a relief your kind act could be to someone who really needs a break.

Doing things the easy way isn't necessarily cheating, Virgo! Sure, you like to be precise and do things the 'right' way, but taking a shortcut or making things easier for yourself when life gets busy isn't a bad thing at all. Don't stress about giving yourself a pass on certain things!

It's a good month to bring some fresh, green energy into your space. Bring the outdoors in! Whether you're an experienced plant parent or you're only capable of taking care of a fake ficus, you'll love the new look of your living space when you add some more greenery to it.

Some friendships start in the strangest of places. This month, you may end up hitting it off with someone over something small or unusual, like a shared hatred of pickles or a mutual love of an obscure rock band. Leave yourself open to meeting new friends this way, Scorpio!

Sure, it can be funny to be self-deprecating sometimes. But if you keep saying unkind things about yourself or your abilities, you may start to believe it. Use August as an opportunity to build yourself up instead of cut yourself down, and your confidence will blossom!

Feeling green with jealousy this month? Just because the people in your life have other interests or close friends doesn't mean they don't care about you, Cap! Don't let your own feelings of envy carry you away -- but do let the people you care about know that you'd appreciate some attention and personal time.

A little creativity can go a long way, Aquarius! If you're facing a tough situation this month, a person like you, one who can look at things from a slightly different angle, can handle it with ease. You might just end up impressing yourself!

Is your shyness holding you back from sharing something that you've created with the world? You may be worried that people will judge you or think you're not good enough -- but you could be missing out on the sense of fulfillment and pride that comes with sharing your gift. This month, go for it!
