There's a lot to be thankful for all over the world and all over the USA, but here in Maryland, we're awfully lucky. We've got a lot to reflect on and feel thankful for. So during this season of reflecting and gratitude, why not consider these things that make Maryland special?
1. The natural beauty
From the striking Appalachians to the picture-perfect sunrises over the ocean, Maryland has natural beauty that other states just can't match! We've got plenty of untouched state parks and rolling forests, tranquil lakes and stunning waterfalls, and fields of sunflowers and lavender that roll as far as the eye can see. All in just one state!
2. The food
This one's no-brainer. Marylanders know how to make some incredible food! You can thank your lucky stars that you're living in a state where succulent steamed crabs, savory pit beef, and boardwalk fries are all within easy reach. Let's be real -- any state without Old Bay caramel popcorn is a state that's simply inferior.
3. The history
Maryland has an incredibly rich history, whether you go back a hundred years or a few million. There are dinosaur bones and shark teeth, the birthplace of the National Anthem, sports legends and athletic records, and much more. Not all of the state's history is pretty, but it's important to acknowledge and learn from the ugly moments, too. There's a lot to discover here, and that's something to feel thankful for.
4. The creativity
Some of the country's most incredible writers, filmmakers, and artists called or call Maryland home. There are so many cultures and styles that are coming together in the different cities and neighborhoods -- truly "America in Miniature" is not an exaggeration. So it makes sense that so many of the state's creative outputs are so varied!
5. The people!
What truly makes a place special is the people who inhabit it, and that includes you! Every day you go out and make your mark on the state, meet new people, and share your gifts. We're pretty thankful to you for being our customers -- and our friends.
