Happy New Year! Planning to get healthy this year? Well, 2023 could truly be your year to gain that muscle or get more active, so why not do it with as much Maryland pride as you do everything else? We've got a few tips to help you do exactly that -- check out our tips here.
1. Try getting out on the water
We're a nautical state, so it makes sense that there are plenty of healthy water-related activities to do here! Make this the year that you embrace swimming like fellow Marylander Michael Phelps (okay, you don't have to swim as much as he does), or enjoy some sunshine and screen-free time on a boat.
2. Enjoy some local produce
Maryland is growing so much good stuff! Skip the fast food and treat yourself to local greens, veggies, fruits, and more, at least a little more often. You'll be amazed at what you can find at local farmer's markets and farm stands.
3. Try some Maryland-fave sports
You don't have to be a lacrosse bro to try out the state's favorite stick-centric sport! 2023 could be the perfect time to get your sweat on by playing lacrosse more often. Of course, you could unleash your inner Cal Ripken and try playing baseball -- a few friends, a ball, and a bat are all you need. You'll feel like a kid at recess again!
4. Get outside and play
The many state parks of Maryland are calling, and they want you to come run, hike, or even just meander, taking in the beauty of this gorgeous state. Why not enjoy as much fresh air as you can? With so many state parks, there's bound to be a green place for you to connect with nature near you.
5. Use some R1A workout gear!
Whether you're doing cross country running, yoga, weight-lifting or dance, you'll look as good as you feel when you wear our gear! And let's face it -- when you own cute workout clothes, you want to show them off, and in order to show them off, you've gotta get moving. Win-win!
