5 Cool Maryland Places To Wear Your New R1A Swimsuit

You placed the order, waited for the delivery, and now it's finally arrived -- your new Route One Apparel swimwear! This calls for a celebration. Taking a dip at the local pool is plenty of fun, don't get us wrong. But if you really want to break in your new swimsuit in style, you should head to one of these awesome spots in Maryland where your colorful new purchase will be properly appreciated. Here are some of the best ones:

Ocean City Beach

Come on, this one's a no-brainer. If you're not showing off downy ocean in your Route One swimsuit, what are you doing? The super-popular summer destination is the ultimate spot for Marylanders to swim, boogie board, and lie out in the sunshine. According to the official OC site, about 8 million people visit each year! Pair your bathing suit with your favorite Route One beach towel, and you'll be the most popular person on the beach.

This is a combo that can't be beat! Buy the towel here.

(We guess you can set up camp in Fenwick or something, if you really want to cross the border to Delaware. You're still going to make sure everyone knows how much Maryland pride you have!)

Deep Creek Lake

Fishing and boating are popular at this super-popular Garrett County destination, but don't forget about swimming, too! If you're more of a mountain Marylander than a beachy one, you can still show off your favorite summer swim looks. If you're hoping to avoid the Ocean City crowds and breathe in that fresh mountain air as you frolic in the water, this is the place. Don't forget to look out for bears!

Sandy Point State Park

Even if you've never visited this swimming spot, you've probably seen it while driving over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. If you don't feel like fighting Ocean City traffic, why not set up your beach umbrella right in Annapolis instead? You've got an unbeatable view of the bay, and the tourists coming and going onto the bridge are going to be totally red, white, yellow and black with envy when they see you rockin' that swimsuit that you got from us.

Especially if it's a red, white, yellow and black swimsuit! Buy here.

Greenbriar State Park

The Appalachian Trail goes through this lovely state park in Boonsboro, but if you're not in the mood to hoof it, you can lie by the shore of the freshwater lake. Camping here sure won't feel like roughing it when you spread out your blanket and read a good book by the water -- and your swimsuit is going to reap a ton of compliments even if you're doing nothing more than chilling out.

These are the perfect board shorts to chill in! Buy here.

Rocky Gap

Planning to visit Allegany County this summer? Don't forget your Route One swimsuit! Sure, it's gonna be hard to compete with the beauty of the lake, the surrounding mountains, or the nearby forests, but we're pretty certain that you'll be just as photogenic as the Maryland landscape when you're wearing your new favorite bathing suit.
