There's nothing better than getting a tasty, icy cone on a hot and muggy Maryland summer day-- except getting rewarded for it! And here in Maryland, that's entirely possible. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the Maryland Ice Cream Trail is back for the 2023 season, and you could win big just for eating sweet local treats.
The premise is simple. All you need to do is visit each of the nine participating creameries here in Maryland (we'll list them below) and take a selfie or picture at the location. Since the event lasts until October 1, you've got plenty of time to get out to all of the participating locations, which range from the western part of the state to the Eastern Shore.
Once you've submitted your photos, you're submitted in the drawing for a $50 gift card to the creamery of your choice. You'll also get a book, a trophy, and the knowledge that you're the ultimate ice cream fan out of everyone in MD.
The trail was started to help promote local creameries and the local dairy industry. While other states may be more well-known for their dairy production, Maryland is no slouch! We're producing more than 876 million gallons of milk per year, according to Maryland's Best.
The creameries are as follows:
Broom's Bloom Dairy, Bel Air
Chesapeake Bay Farms, Berlin/Pocomoke
Deliteful Dairy, Williamsport
Keyes Creamery, Churchville
Misty Meadows Farm Creamery, Smithsburg
Prigel Family Creamery, Glen Arm
Rocky Point Creamery, Tuscarora
South Mountain Creamery, Frederick/Middletown
Woodbourne Creamery at Rockhill Orchard, Mt Airy
