Plan Your Perfect Ocean City Day Trip

Plan Your Perfect Ocean City Day Trip

Believe us, we'd all love to have a leisurely week or two to spend lounging in the sunshine while listening to the crashing surf in Ocean City, Maryland. But that's not always possible! Work, class, family, friends, volunteering or pets may be keeping us from taking that long trip. Don't worry, though. You can have an amazing time if you're just headed to the iconic Maryland vacation spot for a short period. Here are a few options for the day tripper.

Chomp on Thrasher's Fries

No visit, no matter how short, would be complete without a trip to Thrasher's! This local institution serves up fries European-style, with vinegar, and there's a reason that people come from all over to get a taste. They make a great pair with soft shell crabs, burgers, or milkshakes, but let's be real -- we can eat a bucket on its own.

Do a round of mini-golf

Indoor and outdoor mini-golf destinations dot the entire city of Ocean City, so why not take advantage of its nostalgic charm? Mini-golf is the perfect way to remain a kid at heart, and if you're trying to entertain some kiddos, it's a must.

Get that perfect view from the top of the Ferris wheel

Looking to take a perfect sunset photo or just want to take in the amazing view? You'll definitely want to get on the massive Ferris wheel that dominates the edge of the Boardwalk.

Ride the horses (and more) at Trimper's

Trimper's amusement park at the Boardwalk is rich in history -- some of the rides have been in operation for over a century! That includes the breathtakingly beautiful carousel that features more than just horses. It also includes frogs, roosters, and dragons. Go on, go for a spin!

Snack on Fractured Prune donuts

Get your morning in OC started on the right foot! Choosing from the many glazes and toppings that this beloved donut dispensary is famous for can be difficult, but no matter what you pick, you'll be rewarded with some out of this world sweetness.

Explore the Life-Saving Museum

You've probably seen this museum when you've entered the inlet parking area by the boardwalk, but have you ever actually stepped inside? You may be surprised by how much you'll learn! This place will teach you and your crew about everything from Ocean City's history to the evolution of how people's lives were saved out at sea.

Sit by the water

Sure, some people love spending their time in Ocean City on the go, eating delicious foods, shopping, or thrill seeking. But you can't go wrong with just parking yourself in a beach chair and enjoying that salty air!

No matter how you spend your day trip, you're sure to have an amazing time.
