6 Ways To Celebrate Valentine's Day In Maryland

Valentine's Day is almost here, and if you're partnered, you know how important it is to do something special for the occasion! Luckily, Maryland is chock-full of fun, unique, inexpensive, and romantic places and events. No matter what you and your partner enjoy or where in the state you are, we've got suggestions that will make your Valentine's Day extra special.

1. Indulge in chocolate at Union Collective

What's more romantic than chocolate? If you and your special somebody are chocolate fanatics, we've got good news. ChocolateFest 2022 will be on February 12 at Union Collective! The businesses that call Union Collective home will be offering chocolate ice cream, chocolate beer, chocolate and wine pairings, and even chocolate pizza! Learn more here.

2. Stroll through the Walters Art Museum

This gem right in the heart of Baltimore's Mt. Vernon neighborhood is a great date spot! Not only can you and your partner spend hours looking at everything from paintings to suits of armor to real mummies, the museum is totally free (meaning you can save your money for a dinner at one of the city's great restaurants afterwards).

3. Enjoy the historic charm of old Ellicott City

This charming, picture-perfect city has it all! Whether you and your partner want to enjoy coffee and tea, see historic sights, or shop in gorgeous locally-owned small businesses, you can do it in Ellicott City. Stop in for a day-long visit, or stay in an inn in Howard County for an especially romantic weekend.

4. Ski, tube, and relax at Wisp Resort

Instead of escaping from the cold, why not embrace it? February is the perfect time to perfect your skiing skills, but if you'd rather have a good time that requires no skills, you and your love can go tubing instead! After you two are finished playing in the snow, warm up at the Lodge and enjoy one of the many eateries on site.

5. Take advantage of Ocean City's quiet winter offerings

Who says Ocean City is only fun in the summertime? If you and your partner prefer a quiet, low-key Valentine's celebration, you can enjoy the many restaurants, bars, and shops that are still open in the off season at Ocean City. You can stay warm and cozy playing mini-golf or arcade games. The winter season is also ideal for anyone who wants to walk their dog on the beach!

6. Sample wines and food truck treats at Boordy

Every weekend, Boordy Vineyards in Baltimore County rolls out the food trucks and offers up wine flights so you and your sweetheart can sample all kinds of local fare! You can even take in live music while you're there. Buy tickets for the day of your choice by clicking here.
